Our History
1997

Pembroke Real Estate is incorporated.

1999

255 State Street opens, Pembroke’s first completed project. The reconstruction of 255 State Street transformed an undistinguished office building into attractive Class A space on Boston’s waterfront.

2000

Completion of 25 Cannon Street, Pembroke’s first development project in London.

2001

Pembroke Real Estate's Japan branch is established.


World Trade Center East (now known as Seaport East) opens. The adjacent 1.6 acre Eastport Park was the first sculpture park in Boston and the first public green space in the Seaport Place complex.

2002

Completion of Hikawa Gardens luxury residences, Pembroke’s first residential project in Tokyo and a unique housing option for Western expatriate executives, combining elements of Western and Japanese living.


Development complete of Three Ygnacio, the third and final office building in the Ygnacio Center, a campus development comprising a city block near San Francisco, CA.

2004

Focused on expansion into European markets, Pembroke establishes its London office.

2005

Pembroke expands its investment markets into Continental Europe, specifically Brussels and Paris, while also pursuing new opportunities in Washington, D.C.

Pembroke’s total portfolio consists of 2,400,000 sf / 220,000 sqm.

2006

First acquisition in Washington, D.C., 1801 Pennsylvania Avenue

Pembroke’s total portfolio consists of 3,000,000 sf / 280,000 sqm

2007

Acquisition of 61 Rue de Monceau, first property in Paris.

2008

First acquisition in the Nordic region — a 2,000,000 sf / 190,000 sqm portfolio of twelve office/retail buildings located in main business districts of Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki

Pembroke’s total portfolio consists of 5,400,000 sf / 500,000 sqm.

2009
Pembroke’s first residential project in the U.S.—Oak Grove Village, a 550-unit apartment complex in the Boston area—is completed.
2010

Pembroke expands its European investment portfolio with its first German acquisition, the Lorenzistock building in Munich's city centre.

Stockholm office opens to oversee Pembroke's Nordic assets.

Azabu Gardens, a brand new luxury apartment building in Tokyo’s Moto Azabu, opens and receives designation as the first LEED-Certified residential building in Japan.

Pembroke’s total portfolio consists of 6,700,000 sf / 640,000 sqm.
